One of the UK’s leading business leaders was interviewed by PR Week on his company’s approach to PR.
Wetherspoon chairman Tim Martin, who founded the Wetherspoon pub company in 1979, was interviewed by the magazine’s deputy editor, John Harrington.
The article states that “Wetherspoon has no in-house comms director; that role is effectively filled by former pub trade journalist Eddie Gershon who has held the Wetherspoon account since 1990 via his eponymous agency – the account was recently extended to 2021. Gershon has a large brief, handling consumer, B2B, crisis management and corporate PR, including financial results.”
The article also states that Mr Martin sticks with what he knows because it works, quoting him as saying ‘Between Eddie and myself, we’ve been able to deal with questions.’
